Want much bigger brakes than the Spitfire suspension can provide.
Have heard of some model Cortina upright aand brakes being fitted but have no details.
Looking around at Pick N Pull it looks like Fiero is a self contained unit, not sure how good they are.
Other suggestions?

What limitations are you running into? Frame/suspension mounts? Fenderwell?
Any pics of the limitations?

Old Spitfire uprights are a bit notorious for failing at the lower trunion.
Very small four bolt PCD.
My current plan for it is a hopped up 225" Buick V6 and four speed.
I also have a similar issue with my Marcos 1600 GT as it also uses Spitfire front suspension.
It will have an Alfa-Romeo 2000 engine.
I need to change it so that the hubs can match the Alfa rear axle.
I've finally found out which Cortina parts to get, even found the uprights in Aluminum!
Still working on the new A-arm's

Not to send you "elsewhere" - but have you checked out any of the LOCOST sites? A gang of folks building Lotus Super 7 knockoffs and most building their own A-Arms - some using Cortina parts as i recall. Sounds like a Spit - that will Spit-Fire! I am envious of the Marcos! Loved those quirky cars.

Finally gave up - in and registered there.
Seems that every time I do a dearch for any sort of truly custom build that is the site that comes up.

Looking to find help or information to narrow the front suspension off of a C5 Corvette. Has any one done this? I know it has been done many times but I want to ask some questions about their results.

What about Miata?
My brother has a nice Spit body and I do Miata's...I have tought about it.
So much aftermarket and they could be fairly easily widen/narrowed.
There are quite a few holding up to LS power as well as various Turbo/Huffers
Oh and there cheap.....

Biggest issue of the moment is that the stock Spit steering rack needs to go further back to improve the suspension, but cannot.
Now thinking of adapting an entirely different suspension as I need 4x108 PCD, bigger brakes, less bump-steer, and the steering rack a little further forward if possible.
Have to retain the stock 49" track width too.
