Hi all
I have 2 hotrods/streetrods with jag rears. Both rears were complete and newer 86 and 75 +/- and the local Napa store had the brake calipers and rotors available.
I am starting a new 30 Model A vicky with full tube frame along with jag suspension again. Discovered the diff is 2.88 gears non slip. which is to high for and overdrive tranny and 29" tires. Both of the other cars have 3.54 gears and they work great .
My friend from years past had a diff in stock from his 32 build with 3.54 posi gears $50 bucks so I scooped it up. Now the question comes how can I put the newer calipers on this diff as it appears to be an early xke? unit in the sixties with horse shoe looking calipers with pistons mounted on the sides ????????? or are this gears changeable from one housing to the other ??
I will post picks when I am allowed

seams to me the carrier and ring and pinion from the XKE will drop right in to newer Jag diff and allow you to use the rebuilt calipers
BTW welcome to the forum. Got any pix of your projects??

Hey tooltime its Keeper (with the t-bucket)
I hope you find the answer to this question. I have a 62 Mark X rear end that came with one Dunlop caliper. I want to upgrade the calipers as well.
And man am I jealous of that shop!
I know when I swapped my 87 diff with the pumpkin from the 68 e-type all I needed to do was grind some clearance into the newer calipers, I did not take any pictures but if you try to mount a newer caliper on the older diff you will see right where it hits, some time with an angle grinder things fit like a glove. The bolt holes line up, its just some metal in the center that needed to be removed.
So far with about 1000kms on it there have been no issues.

Thanks Keeper for the complement on the toy box!!!!!
Daze I spoke to Mike Bontoft yesterday and E mailed some pics of the rear end for confirmation that his brackets will fit. I would prefer not rebuilding the diff as it has been in storage since the early 80's and only has 20-30 k kms on it. It was from a wreck in 75 and in the street rod for 2 yrs when it was swapped for a 2.88 unit. I am just waiting on Mikes response before my next move
